Our designer, Tossy Garrett, offers wax carving courses for jewelers, artists, and anyone else (even non-artistic types!) who would like to create a beautiful piece of jewelry.

Participants learn basic and intermediate techniques for carving wax and then carve their own design.  The classes are kept small with a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 7.  Students as young as 12 are welcomed, accompanied a parent.

A 6-hour class costs $85.  This includes all carving materials, but does not include the cost of having the carvings cast as this varies widely.  The casting costs range from as little as $15 for one piece cast in silver, up to $100 or more for multiple pieces and/or gold castings.  The cost of individual designs and designing within a budget is discussed during the class.

Classes are offered at the Storm & Sunrise studios in Northfield, VT.  Tossy also offers group classes for friends or other groups (minimum of 4 people) at their location.  There is no charge for travel within an hour drive of Northfield; travel costs apply for further distances. 

One-on-one classes are also available with Tossy for a rate of $50/hour.  This is a great option for someone wishing to work on their own wedding rings or other special jewelry.  Please contact us for more information.
